The hotel lies directly on the beautiful, fine-sandy Matapalo beach, in the Playas del Coco region, next to the hotel Riu Guanacaste. The RIU resort includes the following shared facilities: Splash Water World, children's swimming pool with slides, conference centre, Renova Spa, Pacha discotheque, medical office and the El Poblado Street with several shots, boutiques, mini-market and souvenir & photo shop. The guest of Riu Palace Costa Rica may use the facilities in sister hotel Riu Guanacaste, except dinner meal.
Being on a privileged environment, the hotel offers a variety of activities on the beautiful beaches such as diving or fishing in the Pacific waters, ecotourism in the volcanic areas, and during the day several programs of entertainment for all ages, whether in family or friends. The hotel has a gym, table tennis, volleyball, tennis court, windsurf, sailing, snorkeling equipment, kayaks and other water activities.
